Facebook Culture – Understanding Social Networking in 2011

Social networking has been with us for a very long time. The caveman sitting with his fellow hunters in front of the fire and cooking and eating their latest kill was social networking.

Going to the pub for a drink after work with your workmates is social networking. Just about activity that you do with your friends and colleagues is social networking. So how is Facebook different?

Social networking is now online. All you need is a computer and an Internet connection. There are several sites that cater for just about every taste and requirement. Facebook is one of them. It is a free site open to anyone to join. You do this by setting up your account and creating a profile which contains as much or as little as you desire. You can put your picture up there, so that your new friends can see you and match your picture with your words.

Once you are signed in, you can begin looking for your friends and asking them to connect with you. From there, you can contact their friends and make more connections that way. As you can see, the snowball effect causes as your name to spread in all directions. If someone sees your name and picture, they can contact you and ask to be your “friend.” You don’t have to respond, you can accept or ignore the request as it suits you. It is entirely up to you.

Once you have agreed to be friends, you can read each other’s pages. You can then post your latest news and photos for your friends’ responses and read and comment on their latest postings. In this way, a social interaction quickly spreads among you and your friends wherever you may be, anywhere on the Internet. No charge. It is a wonderful way to make and keep friends all over the world.

You like playing games? You can play various games including scrabble with your friends any where, anytime. There is also an email account and instant messaging available if you want to converse privately with one particular friend only.

You can readily understand why Facebook is growing at an extraordinary fast rate. Facebook has over 500 million active users and increasing all the time.

So, if you are a social person, or would just like to be one, here is a wonderful way of meeting, albeit digitally, friends in the comfort and safety of your own home, at a time of your own choosing. It doesn’t get any better than that. Try it, you might like it.

Persistence and Perseverance

Probably more than any other business, I would say that everyone who is successful in the Internet Marketing business has demonstrated the quality of persistence. If persistence can be defined as “keep on keeping on,” that fits successful internet marketers to a “T’

So what is it about persistence and perseverance that has so caught the attention of man down through the ages? Because it works, that’s what.

Here is something from Ray Kroc the founder of McDonalds:

Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful individuals with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.

There it is right there. No matter what happens, you are not beaten until you say you are beaten.  The absolute worst thing that you can do is give up. You will never forgive yourself.

Vince Lombardi the great football coach:

Once you learn to quit, it becomes a habit.

So don’t quit. Most of us here, me included, are struggling to make a go of it on the internet with varying degrees of success. The examples of people who have made it are all around us so it can be done. Somebody said the other day “a Guru is just someone who started before you.” I believe that.

Here is Hank Aaron, who a lot of people think was the best hitter in baseball:

My motto was always to keep on swinging. Whether I was in a slump or feeling badly or having trouble off the field, the only thing to do was keep swinging.

Keep swinging. We all know that it is the answer, don’t we?  That is persistence. How about perseverance? According to Newt Gingrich:

Perseverance is the hard work you do after you get tired of doing the hard work you already did.

I am sure many of us have spent hours trying to do something which is actually pretty easy, I know I have many times, but when you battle through it and it gets done the way you want it done, you forget how long it took. But if you give up on it, you feel frustrated and upset. That is the time to come back and get it done.

Donald Trump:

If you want something done you’ll find a way. If you don’t want something done you’ll find an excuse.

So there you are. Just remember:

As you make your way through life,

Let this ever be your goal.

Keep your eye upon the doughnut

And not upon the hole.

Internet Marketing Coaching-Get Started Today-3 Tips

We have all heard about the need for internet coaching and the importance of picking the right coach or mentor. Easier said than done of course. So what qualities do you look for in mentor? Well here are 3 Tips that you might use.

  • It is absolutely essential that you get someone that has and still is doing it themselves. Someone who has been through the struggles and failures which are inevitable in the long learning process in the internet marketing business. Because make no mistake, you have to do the work and show the persistence that only someone has been there understands.
  • Someone who is available to answer your questions without any limits on time or quantity. Unlimited access to you mentor is very important and if it not available, look elsewhere. This is a deal breaker. The importance of of this can not be overstated.
  • A step by step learning process is another must. You must have each step fully absorbed before moving on to the next one. Therefore the information must be available to you to return to as often as you like. Then you can move on at your own pace.

So there you have it. If you want someone that your can try for a very small outlay, before fully committing to the full program, why not take a look at John Thornhills’ Masterclass Program. Click on the link below. http://bit.ly/buLs0u
