Well, my team Newcastle United managed to get themselves relegated into the Championship. We needed one point from the last game of the season and we couldn’t manage that. In the event, we needed just one goal in the last game of the season and we couldn’t manage that either.
We couldn’t even manage one shot on goal.
The players were too occupied planning their vacations. We used to call that being Demob Happy when I was serving Queen and Country, up to my neck in muck and bullets in the Black Forest, holding back the Russian Hordes. But I digress.
Anyway, we have bigger troubles now. The club is up for sale with no takers on the horizon. We have no manager. His contract ran out with no renewal in sight. We have 15 players with no cut contracts in excess of 50,000 pounds (80,000 US Dollars per week). These are the players who just got us relegated, mark you. The people who just went on vacation for a couple of months.
Into this happy state of affairs the club sent out Season Ticket Renewal Forms this week.
If you ever wanted a definition of Chutzpah, there it is, right there.

My team Newcastle United is now hovering on the brink of relegation from the Premiership. The bottom three teams are dumped down into a lower division, in this case the Championship (?), while the top three teams in the Championship are promoted into the Premiership. This carries on through the four main divisions of professional football and cause a lot of anguish or elation depending in which direction your team is going.
The large television money goes mostly to the Premiership teams and a drop from the Premiership is estimated to cost about 40 million pounds ( 60-65 million USD) in lost revenue. We have one more game to play this season and if we lose it as is likely, we are going down.
My friend O.D. Malone, speaking in the local patois said, ” Ah divvent kna wat aal dee if we gan doon.” Freely translated into English this means ” Swipe me, squire, I have no idea what on earth will be my decision about renewing my season ticket should we be so unfortunate as to be relegated.”
“Well Odie,” says I, ” you will do what the rest of us hopeless fans do, keep renewing your ticket and keep supporting this bunch of no-hopers like we have for the last fifty years without them winning anything. It’s what we do.”
“Yer knaa, yer reet” (Do you know, you are correct) says he. Then he brightened,” We’ll still have the pies, tho. Won’t we?”

Now this is a very nifty free keyword research tool that you can use in your keyword research for your affiliate marketing.
It allows you to browse Google and view the Adwords keywords of ANY Adwords advertiser!
Basically, it’s a small file that gets installed into your web browser (i.e. Firefox).
When you do a Google search, the software automatically places a “view keywords” button below every single Adwords advertiser.
Click the “view keywords” button and really neat popup window appears that not only shows you the keywords that any Adwords advertiser is bidding on, but it also shows you a TON of other information, like how much they’re paying per click and so on.
It’s awesome.
Did I mention that it is free. You can upgrade it if you want, I did, but you can start with the free program and see how you like it. It is an amazing keyword generator. Well worth a visit.

That is the question. There are some who think that by using Twitter’s large customer base, you can tap in to all of the people on there. In fact there is a nifty program that claims to give you thousands of opt-ins straight from Twitter. See here.

Is the constant barrage of opt-ins that we are faced with everyday a good thing or a bad thing? Is it just a nuisance or a source of information?
I submit that it is a very good thing because of the accepted style of selling on the net these days is to give out free information (freebies) in return for your email which can then be used to inform you of the latest products for sale. This is almost always good to very high quality information. It is like a Free University of Internet Marketing.
You don’t have to buy anything at all, but if you are like me you will buy stuff from time to time and it is invariably of good quality. This is the way that it is done and it is working beautifully. The old time travelling evangalists used to call it ” getting them into the tent.” Come inside, lollipops for the kids.
This is what we are all trying to do with varying degrees of success. Or failure.
So, that should be our aim. Get them into the tent (email address) and then you can present your message. Sort of like this.
